Assalamu alaykum, Dear Al-Hijra Families.

We welcome all our new and returning families and pray that this partnership of home and school is for the sake of Allaah, subhaanahu wa ta’aala, as we work together to provide the best of ta’leem and tarbiyyah of both deen and dunya to our next generation of the Muslim Ummah.

We would like to share with you some important information about the upcoming 2021-2022 school year, and this information can be found on our web site at www.alhijraacademy.com. Insha’Allaah the first day back to school for Al-Hijra students is Tuesday, September 7, 2021. On the first day of school, parents will drop off students at the back, outdoors where their temperatures will be taken before entering the building. Teachers will meet students in the gym, and students will line up with their teachers who will be holding signs indicating their names, the grades they teach, and their class lists. At this point, the students will be welcomed and led to their classrooms.

Parents MUST screen their children for COVID-19 every day before going to school/child care.

Click HERE for the screening tool that you can print and keep on the refrigerator to use to screen daily. You can also use a digital screening tool daily (recommended) HERE.

We will be adopting the guidance found in the government of Ontario’s COVID-19: Health, safety and operational guidance for schools (2021-2022) Students in Grades 1 to 8 are required to wear properly fitted non-medical or cloth masks indoors in school. Students are not required to wear masks outdoors, but distancing should be encouraged between cohorts as much as possible. Students in kindergarten are encouraged but not required to wear non-medical or cloth masks in indoor spaces. Students are expected to bring their own masks to wear.
